Comcast Cable Television: Largest Telecom Company in the US

Comcast Cable has risen to become the largest telecommunication company in the Unites States since it began in 1963. Its offerings have expanded to include broadband telephone, broadband internet, and digital televisions. Comcast remains on the cutting edge of the technology and continues to deliver the newest technology to its users.

The history of Comcast Cable

Comcast was founded in Tupelo, Mississippi by Daniel Aaron, Julian A. Brodsky, and Ralph J Roberts but was originally known as American Cable Systems. Then in 1969, they moved the company headquarters to Pennsylvania and became known as the Comcast Corporation.

With the move came the company's drive to realign their programming and as a result of those efforts, Comcast joined with a few other companies and became major shareholders of Comcast SportsNet, Comcast-Spectator, E! Entertainment Television, G4, Style Network, and the Golf Channel. Comcast now serves over 23.3 million cable TV subscribers alone and millions of other customers who use their other services.

Services provided by Comcast Cable

Comcast cable provides its viewers with hundreds of channels both Us channels and those from outside of the states. In addition to that, the company also offers enhanced services such as HDTV (high definition television), On Demand TV, the On Screen Guide, parental controls and Family Tier.

High definition television provides unmatched clarity which is over 5 times the resolution of regular televisions. In fact HDTV is the greatest leap in television technology since the introduction of color TV.

Comcast also offers the On Demand service which lets the viewer browse through hundreds of movies and shows by using the digital cable box. The parental control uses a V chip which screens out adult only channels so parents don't have to worry about their kids changing channels and watching television unsupervised.

If you are thinking of switching to Comcast, check their website or give them a call and ask about their current specials. You might be able to get a special deal of a reduced rate for a few months. When it is time to pay your bill you can do so conveniently online on their website. Comcast is the largest telecommunications company in the United States and offers the latest technology so you know you will get the best cable has to offer if you choose them to provide your cable service. You can even take advantage of bundled offers and save extra money by getting your cable broadband and broadband telephone through them as well.
